Central Bank Deputy Governor Felicia Dlamini-Kunene appointed voting member of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion, Spokesperson Mandla Luphondvo says appointment a huge recognition for eSwatini.

MBABANE:Felicia Dlamini-Kunene, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Eswatini(CBE) has been appointed as a voting member of the Centre for Financial Inclusion, Mandla Luphondvo, the Bank’s Head of Strategy and Communications confirmed to this Swaziland News on Saturday afternoon.

The Alliance for Financial Inclusion is a policy leadership alliance owned and led by member Central Banks, it also acts as a Financial Regulator in developing countries with the main objective of advancing financial inclusion.

Respondin to this Swaziland News when asked to clarify what this appointment mean for the country, Luphondvo said, the appointment of the Deputy Governor “is important and strategic for Eswatini, particularly because the country has prioritized financial inclusion through different public and private institutions”. He said financial inclusion “is an intentional effort” to make financial products and services accessible and affordable to all individuals and businesses.

 “The appointment of the Deputy Governor shows that Eswatini has made significant investments towards financial inclusion by training its personnel, creating an enabling environment through appropriate policies and deploying relevant programs. As a result, Eswatini is now well-positioned to learn global best practices through these international assignments. Best practices are established guidelines or standards that are recognized for achieving effective outcomes.The Central Bank of Eswatini is particularly proud to have the Deputy Governor fly the country’s flag sky-high”, said the Bank’s Head of Strategy and Communications.
