MBABANE:Electronic gadgets belonging to editor of this Swaziland News Zweli Martin Dlamini that were seized by the police for investigation, have been allegedly stolen by the same cops at the Mbabane Police Station.

The gadgets were seized by the police in February 2020 and, the editor have been demanding same for almost five(5) years now.

“I was then informed that the gadgets have disappeared and stolen by the same police that’s why the cops are now reluctant to come out clean regarding this matter. The gadgets include a brand new laptop worth over thirty-thousand Rands(R30,000.00) that was presented to me by the then Chinese Ambassador to South Africa Lin Songtian after our meeting in Pretoria. I then presented the same laptop to my wife as I already had one and I told the police that the owner of the laptop is my wife and it was new with no information. They took it including cellphones for my wife and a MacBook Pro that I was no longer using. They were unable to grab my cellphones as I was able to hide same but, they took the cellphones they saw at the coffee table thinking my cellphones were among those. So now our properties with my wife have been stolen by people who claimed they were enforcing the law yet they are criminals. I need the properties back”, said the editor.

Police Spokesperson Phindile Vilakati declined to comment.

It is alleged that, the editor’s electronic gadgets went missing in a room within the Mbabane Police Station where electronic gadgets are kept, the computers were under the custody of the then Hhohho Regional Crime Branch Officer(RCBO) Sikhumbuzo Fakudze.

But this is not the first time properties went missing at Mbabane Police Station, one hundred thousand Rands(R100,000.00) allegedly belonging to women’s stovel was allegedly stolen by Assistant Superintendent Jabulani Madlopha who was later forced to pay back the money by his superiors.

Madlopha was among the senior police officers who grabbed the editor’s electronic gadgets during the raiding and, it remains unclear if “he is among the officers who stole the laptops”.
