Former Botswana President Ian Khama reports vehicle consistently following him to the police, says surveillance has been going on for weeks.

MBABANE:Lieutenant General Ian Khama,the Botswana President has reported a case to the police after an unknown Honda Fit registered B 626 BVB consistently followed him.

Efforts to seek a comment from the Botswana police proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.

Reached for comments by this Swaziland News on Thursday morning the former President said, the vehicle did not start following him this week but, the alleged monitoring of his movements or surveillance has been consistent.

“I have my suspicions as others do.The matter was first reported to the police a few weeks ago”, said the former President when speaking to editor Zweli Martin Dlamini.

Lieutenant General Khama was instrumental in campaigning against former President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi, accusing him of undermining democracy and destroying the economy.

Masisi was recommended by President Khama for the position but,he allegedly attempted to arrest Ian Khama on alleged politically motivated criminal charges.

Lietenant General Khama subsequently fled to exile where he had an opportunity to plot how to campaign and remove Masisi from power by partnering with the opposition.
