TSWANE:Fikile Mbalula,the Secretary General of the African National Congress(ANC) has re-affirmed the political organization’s support for eSwatini’s main and largest political party, the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO).
Addressing thousands of ANC supporters who had gathered at Tswane on Friday to deliver the People's Mandate to the Executive Mayor,Mbalula urged King Mswati to surrender Executive powers to the people and allow democracy.
“The people of eSwatini are saying; let Mswati surrender Executive powers and continue to remain a King but, Mswati wants to control everything.This is the President of PUDEMO who recently survived a poisoning assassination attempt. We would like to assure you President that you won’t die while the people of eSwatini are still oppressed. Phambili nge-PUDEMO Phambili”, said the ANC Secretary General.
PUDEMO and the ANC enjoys warm relations, the African National Congress has been, over the years, expressing support for the eSwatini struggle for democracy.
