MBABANE:Lutfo Dlamini, the Chairman of Philani Maswati Charity Organization has, on behalf of the Patron Queen Mother Ntombi, applauded National Commissioner of Police Vusi Masango for arresting the dozens of alleged “facata” scammers.
In a public statement sent to this Swaziland News this week,the Philani Maswati Chairman said, elderly people were targeted by the alleged scammers.
“On behalf of Her Majesty, the Indlovukati and Patron of Philani Maswati, we would like to express our appreciation for the excellent work done by the Royal Eswatini Police Service in taking action against the "facata gang". Their efforts have significantly improved the lives of our elderly citizens, who have suffered greatly because of this group.As Philani Maswati, an organization that supports the elderly, we have been receiving reports from the elderly being scammed by unscrupulous fraudsters known as facata gang.
We have observed that these criminals have been targeting social grants intended for our elderly population.We understand that the elderly rely on this support from His Majesty’s government.We would like to express our deepest appreciation to Nkwe NATCOM and his exceptional team,the REPS. The Patron of Philani Maswati Charity is pleased that the law is being upheld to the benefit of the elderly victims.
We urge the public to continue assisting the REPS, as many scammers are still active”, reads the statement released by the Philani Maswati Chairman.
