MBABANE:Mkhize Mavuso, an orphan at LaMgabhi eTiyeni has returned to his home after editor Zweli Martin Dlamini stopped one of his fathers from grabbing land from the orphan.
The land that is within the territory of the editor’s family, was allocated to the orphan’s late father Makhontjwa Mavuso by the editor’s grandfather Prince Mgungu in consultation with the late Chief Mabhedla Hlophe.
“I am totally against anyone who grabs land from widows and orphans even if the culprit is within my family, I will not allow that. That land was allocated to the late Makhotjwa Mavuso and he had one child Mkhize Mavuso as his son. So after the death of the father, that land now belongs to the orphan and I will not allow anyone to grab land from the orphan.Mkhize sikhule naye selusa tinkhomo, ngeke ngoba sewufelwe ngu-Yise bese ngibukela bantfu from my family bamemuke indzawo ngoba yena uyatihluphekela sebatfola intfo yekudlala. All the people who were allocated a piece of land by my grandfather within the territory of my family’s land must live in peace. Uma ngingavumela loku kuyawusho kutsi tsine as a family, sesemuka tintsandzane tindzawo ngoba batali babo sebashonile.Lifindvo lelakhungaa nguMtfwaneNkhosi wanika bantfu tindzawo site bantfwana emandla ekulitfukulula,” said the editor.
The editor then said he reported the matter to uMphakatsi to keep a close eye on anyone who might grab land from the orphan.
“My grandfather never allocated land to anyone and then grabbed it once the head of the family dies.Ngeke unike umuntfu indzawo atsi angafa bese wemuka labatfwana.Ngiko loku lengingakufuni kuleminye imiMphakatsi and I cannot allow it even within my family”, he said.
Sozabile Dlamini,Lidvuna at Umphakatsi told this publication that, now that the editor has contacted them, they will protect the orphan.
“The problem was that, the land grabbing was done by one of his father’s before uMhleli intervened kodvwa-ke natsi singuMphakatsi sesitayibuka njengoba asasibikele ngoba vele intsandzane phela ayemukwa lokushiywe ngu-Yise”,he said.
On another note, the editor warned that, no structure will be allowed in that land unless the construction has been approved by the orphan as the owner and uMphakatsi.
