MBABANE: Sicelo ‘KhungaNkhosi’ Dlamini, the vibrant Mayiwane Member of Parliament(MP) who successfully moved a motion seeking to increase salaries for junior police officers, is now investigating all civil servants who allegedly forged birth certificates to avoid retirement.

The MP is alleged to have contacted various Government officials during the course of the investigation, sources within Government alleged that, the MP “is preparing for another motion seeking to expel all those who forged birth certificates to avoid retirement” thus depriving young people job opportunities.

But this is not the first time the MP raised the issue, he recently ordered all those who have reached the retirement age to go home and open job opportunities for the youth.

“He told us that he is gathering information to motivate his motion in Parliament and we provided the information to him”, said a Government source.

It is alleged that, the list of the names forwarded to the MP include Sipho Tsabedze, the Principal Secretary(PS) in the Ministry of Public Service, Assistant Police Commissioner Clement Sihlongonyane,Chief Fire Officer(CFO) Luke Lushaba and one senior Correctional Services officer identified as Masushwana Nkambule.

Clement Sihlongonyane, a senior police officer is allegedly ‘sleeping while walking’ perhaps due to old age, he recently secured a two(2)-year contract after reaching the retirement age in 2023 but, his family members confirmed that, he allegedly forged his birth certificate as those younger than him long reached sixty(60) years.

According to the family members, Sihlongonyane is now approaching seventy(70) years old.

Worth-noting, not all the above named individuals allegedly forged their birth certificates but, their names were also forwarded among other senior Government officials who had long retired but used other means to secure extended employment contracts with the Civil Service Commission(CSC).

Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo declined to comment about the matter.

Reached for comments by this Swaziland News, Sicelo ‘NkhungaNkhosi’ Dlamini, the Mayiwane MP said he was sized with the matter and,it might raised in Parliament hence he cannot comment about it at this juncture.

“I cannot discuss this issue outside Parliament”, said the MP.

On another note, a senior Correctional Services Officer identified as Maseko “is also among the list of civil servants” to be tabled in Parliament.

It is alleged that dozens of senior Government officials are refusing to retire thus depriving the youth job opportunities, this resulted to the Mayiwane MP taking action.
