MBABANE:Sergeant Dumsile Khumalo, the Secretary General of the Royal Eswatini Police Staff Association(REPOSA) has warned Spokesperson Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati not to speak nonsense as junior cops are determined in their fight for a salary increment.

This comes after Vilakati labelled the junior cops “who are demanding a salary increment under Phase two(2) a minority(Lidlandzana)”, she was speaking to the State owned Radio Station.

“Phindile must remember that we are police officers angakhulumi nje kungatsi ukhuluma nebantfwana baka Grade 2b.We want our money and we will fight until we get it kute lapho simnandzi khona. Phindile is already enjoying a huge salary under Phase One(1) after the promotion that’s why she is speaking like this”,said the REPOSA Secretary General when speaking to this Swaziland News on Monday morning.

Tension is escalating within the police service after senior officers awarded themselves a salary increment leaving junior cops behind and this, was done in complete disregard of an existing Circular awarding junior police officers a salary increment.

But the Supreme Court has ruled that Government must increase salaries for junior cops however, Government Spokesperson maintained that, the cops will not receive any increment “as the judgement is being reviewed by Government”

“Police Spokesperson Phindile Vilakati angasijwayeli kabi akhulume kutsandza kwakhe sifuna imali yetfu lana”, says Staff Association Secretary General Sergeant Dumsile Khumalo.
