MBABANE:Kareem Ashraff, the influential, powerful and politically connected Swazipharm Director is also an alleged smuggler of dangerous addictive drugs, some that are allegedly supplied to King Mswati’s children.
It has been disclosed that Prince Majaha was recently treated on a rehabilitation process for alleged excessive consumption of drugs and, Kareem Ashraff was allegedly “behind all this”.
As previously reported by this publication, Prince Majaha allegedly started to behave strangely, he took his father King Mswati’s picture from the wall and attempted to consume it.
But now it has emerged that, apart from the alleged looting of billions within the Ministry of Health resulting to the shortage of drugs in public hospitals as exposed by the independent media, Funduzi Forensic report,the Auditor General(AG) and the Public Accounts Committee(PAC), the powerful and politically connected businessman “is an alleged secret supplier of the dangerous drugs smoked by the King’s children” and as a result, his close proximity with the King and his children enhanced his power of influence.
Kareem Ashraff declined to comment about the matter when reached by this Swaziland News on Wednesday.
When asked to share a view on the subject matter, health expert Mayibongwe Masangwane, the Secretary General(SG) of the Swaziland Democratic Nurses Union(SWADNU) warned about the smoking and/or consumption of deadly drugs saying doing so, affects the entire functioning of the body.
“A person who consumes drugs normally develops an addiction and becomes fully dependent on the drugs. Once the person becomes addicted to the drugs, the consumption damages the nerves and subsequently, all the organs of the body including the brain will be affected because all the organs of the body function through the nerves”, said the health expert.
Reached for comments by this Swaziland News on Wednesday, King Mswati’s Spokesperson Percy Simelane said, it would be hard for him to know about the matter as health issues are ‘private and confidential’.
“We wouldn't know. Anything to do with bodily or spiritual or habitual healing of a person squarely rests with their family and the responsible doctor or physician treats it with confidentiality.By practice and law health issues are confidential”, said the King’s Spokesperson.
An alleged drug dealer very close to Ashraff told this publication that, the Swazipharm Director “is allegedly linked to a powerful syndicate” even in Namibia and other countries.
“He is connected to powerful individuals in a number of countries where he supplies these drugs,” said another alleged dr countries. countries.
But information sourced from the royal family suggests that, the consumption of drugs allegedly supplied by Ashraff “is slowly influencing” even political decisions in the country as the King’s children then return a favour to the powerful businessman by influencing tenders and alleged looting of public resources.

Kareem Ashraff is also a major supplier of drugs in public hospitals and has been accused of looting billions of public funds resulting to the shortage of medication in hospitals.
