MBABANE:Phindile Dlamini,the Commissioner General of the Correctional Services has banned all officers from posting their uniform pictures on social media.
Dlamini did not end there, she “ordered the officers” to delete their already uploaded pictures or face dismissal.
Assistant Commissioner Gugulethu Dlamini failed to clarify why the officers are being forced to delete their uniform pictures.
Reached for comments on Tuesday, human rights lawyer Sibusiso Nhlabatsi described the directive as a decision as a harsh decision.
“It’s a harsh decision,the Commissioner General was supposed to introduce a social media policy that will guide the officers how they must conduct themselves on social media when posting their uniform pictures.But because they are a disciplined force and this decision is an order, they are expected to accept it”, said the human rights lawyer.
