LWANDLE:Simo Mkhatjwa, a teacher at Mgebiseni Primary School allegedly abused his “in separation” wife Gcinile Dlamini who arrived at Lwandle on Wednesday, demanding her clothes and furniture.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, Dlamini said they separated with her husband in January 2023 and they have been holding family meetings even at uMphakatsi in an effort to reconcile.
“But those efforts were in vain such that I moved-on with my life. So on Wednesday I arrived at Lwandle demanding my clothes and furniture. He said he won’t give me my clothes because it’s Incwala Holiday.When I called the police, they asked him where Incwala features in my demand for my clothes but he refused saying, we must respect Incwala then thereafter, we can talk about the clothes”,she said.
Reached for comments on Thursday, Mkhatjwa denied that, he was refusing to release the clothes but, accused the wife of terrorizing him and refusing to terminate a marriage certificate with an alleged intention to benefit from his pension and other savings should he die.
“It’s not true that I am refusing with his clothes but, it’s the manner in which she wants things to be done. Phela umfati nawumtsatsa uyambika eMphakatsini kutsi lana sekuka-LaNkhosi. Another thing, she is refusing to terminate the marriage certificate and this means, if I can die while the marriage still exist in the documents, she will claim all my benefits and I am saying; if we decide to terminate the marriage, let us do it properly. The issue of Incwala came-in after I called umuntfu lomdzana waseMphakatsini watsi “tjela labantfu kutsi babophindze babuye, siseNcwaleni”. She came here with six(6) men demanding the clothes and I don’t know where those men came from. Imagine your wife afike nemadvodza atokuhlasela longati nekutsi uwatsetsephi. Yena akavume sicishe sitifiketi so we can move-on atsatse timphahla”, he said.
