LOBAMBA:Lieutenant General Ian Khama,the former Botswana President says, the thousands of emaButfo who participated in the Incwala ceremony at Ludzidzini Palace on Wednesday, is an indication of emaSwati’s commitment in upholding the Nation’s cultural identity.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Thursday morning, the former President who was part of the Very Important Guests during the ceremony together with diplomats said, he witnessed throngs of people from all sectors of the society participating in the ceremony.
“All my experiences having attended a number of traditional and cultural ceremonies including the Incwala ceremony, indicate to me a strong commitment by the people of the Kingdom to upholding the Nation and its people’s identity and unity as witnessed by the participation of so many from all sections of society and across all ages,” said the former Botswana President.
Thousands of emaButfo attended the Incwala ritual ceremony at Ludzidzini Palace on Wednesday and this, include Ingatja(young boys) and members of the various regiments, while members of Lutsango(women) and Imbali(young girls) were also seen inside Sibaya.
The event started with King Mswati inspecting the Guard of Honour and high profile people from various sectors of the society,participated in the ritual ceremony.
