BHUNYA:If you care about someone, you will love their children and that’s exactly what Montigny did on Saturday when the company splashed the cash and threw the mother of all Christmas parties for children of its employees from both its Mills,as well as those of residents in the neighboring communities.
The company spent E150 000 to entertain four hundred(400) children aged between 0 and fifteen(15) years, the children spent the day playing a variety of games from water slides to jumping castles.
The Christmas party was held at the Bhunya Stadium, Montigny has over eleven thousand(11000) direct and indirect employees, some of whom live at the company’s village.
The children were treated to lunch and handed a variety of toys and learning aids.
Sihle Mavuso, the Montigny Group Risk Manager told this Swaziland News that, the company has a culture of entertaining children and organizing parties for them.
“Montigny has a culture of organizing parties for our children.
These include children of our workers and those who come from neighboring communities. It is just one small way in which we show appreciation to our workers and publics-for their hard work and cooperation with the company's programmes respectively,” said the Group Risk Manager who also heads a department that has a community liaison function.
But over the years Montigny adopted a Corporate Social Initiative(CSI) that brings a holistic package of public good for its neighbours.
Mavuso explains that the company's CSI is a core responsibility and not a nice-to-have.
“Complementing our CSI are a number of people- centred programs that include general staff wellness to mental health. These programs ensure that our workers are functional both at work and in the family," he said.
King of Gcom M-Nation added another dimension of fun as he delivered a splendid family-friendly performance.
