MBABANE:Retiring Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo allegedly boycotted Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini’s Cabinet Performance Report press conference on Friday amid reports suggesting that, the PM “wants to replace him with Eswatini Observer editor Mbongeni Mbingo”.

Nxumalo(61) is allegedly lobbying for another extended contract even though he said he was ready to go home when reacting to an article published by editor Zweli Martin Dlamini.

This comes after he failed to secure a State propaganda R1.4million annual tender for his alleged online platform, Government renewed an existing contract for Eswatini Positive News.

It is alleged that, Nxumalo allegedly tried to grab the tender from Eswatini Positive News ahead of his retirement so that he could have something to eat after leaving Office however, Government felt his online platform that “he allegedly operates with former Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF) Swaziland President Ncamiso Ngcamphalala and ex-Deputy Secretary General of the now defunct Swaziland Federation of Trade Unions(SFTU)  Jabulani Nxumalo”, was not professionally defending the Government.

“Whether or not I go home in the next 3 months,it's a non-issue for me.Home has never been traumatic experience for me”,said the Government Spokesperson when reacting to a previous article published by this Swaziland News.

It is alleged that, Nxumalo complained that, the PM is taking decisions behind his back by vigorously working towards employing Mbongeni Mbingo, he declined to comment when asked why he boycotted the press conference where the Government Performance Report was delivered.
