MBABANE: Makila James, the former United States(US) Ambassador to the Kingdom of eSwatini says, Government was threatened by assassinated human rights lawyer Thulani Maseko’s power to peacefully organize the people for regime-change.

The former Ambassador was speaking on Tuesday during the Swaziland News Visionary Perspective Candle Light Ceremony hosted by human rights defender Velaphi Mamba, in honor of the assassinated lawyer.

James said the involvement of the late human rights lawyer in the formation of the pro-democracy MultiStakeholder Forum(MSF) was an indication that, he was passionate about liberating the people of eSwatini.

Lawyer Thulani Maseko was assassinated on the 21st January 2023 in front of his wife and children at kaLuhlelo-Luyengo, a few hours after King Mswati threatened those calling for democracy saying, his mercenaries “will deal with them”.
