Friday, 24th January, 2025

MBABANE:Dumisa Dlamini, the Sincemphetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund(SMVAF) Accident Prevention and Public Education, has urged motorists to be patients with young pedestrians as schools open next week.

Speaking during a media briefing this week, the SMVAF Manager further called for heightened awareness of road safety as fans gear up for the highly anticipated Ingwenyama Cup fixtures this weekend.

“Kill your speed, or you will kill a child,” Dlamini cautioned, stressing the need for motorists to travel at a maximum speed of 30 km/h in school zones, particularly as schools reopen next week.

“By slowing down, we not only comply with the law but also assure life, creating safer roads for all, especially children and other vulnerable pedestrians”, he said.

Dlamini further encouraged fans to celebrate responsibly by avoiding drinking and driving, underscoring the importance of preventing road accidents that can have devastating consequences.
