MBABANE: Mlamuli Gumedze, the former President of the Swaziland National Union of Students(SNUS) said under the leadership of the late PUDEMO founding President Mario Masuku, they learned not to keep quiet while the Tinkhundla system continues to oppress them.

Speaking to this Swaziland News, the former students union boss said as the youth they will intensify the struggle for democracy in honor of the late struggle icon who died on Monday due to a COVID-19 related illness.

“As the youth we learned a lot from him particularly not to keep quiet in the midst of the Tinkhundla regime oppression. We learned that even if your health is compromised, you must continue fighting. We saw him in and out of prison even when his health condition was not stable but he never stopped fighting for freedom” said the SNUD President.

Mario Masuku, the former highly regarded President of PUDEMO was well respected locally and internationally for fighting for democracy.
