LOBAMBA:Percy Simelane, the King’s Spokesperson has clarified that, a communication breakdown led to some young boys(Ingatja) not receiving their Incwala allowances(Imbasha).
Simelane was asked by this Swaziland News to clarify the matter after some of the young boys contacted editor Zweli Martin Dlamini on Monday afternoon, expressing their appreciation to King Mswati, the young boys were confirming that, they have received their long awaited Imbasha.
But the King’s Spokesperson defended officials of the King’s Office amid looting allegations saying, the delay was caused by a communication breakdown after some delays in the verification process.
“We still want to believe that the outcry over unpaid Imbasha Allowances emanated from communication breakdown.Upon checking my office discovered that the funds were not missing but some people had not received anything due to lack of evidence of their participation. When this gap was bridged, deserving Tingatja got their travel allowances. The participants’ headmen had a list of participants which helped the Accounts Office know who to pay allowances,” said the King’s Spokesperson when responding to the editor on Monday evening.
Christopher Gamedze, the Finance Officer in the King’s Office was previously flooded with calls from Ingatja(young boys) who were demanding their money that was announced by King Mswati when dispersing emaButfo.
“We have finally received our Imbasha and we are grateful to the King for the gift, this will motivate us to participate even next year knowing that the King is taking care of us,” said one of the boys in a message sent to the King.
