KA-LONHLUPHEKO:King Mswati says he was impressed to see the ongoing development at kaLonhlupheko, an area that was known as a place of poverty.
The King was speaking when officially launching the Lubombo Region based kaLanga Shopping Complex on Thursday morning.
“In the past, such places used to be known for drought, unemployment and poverty, but today we can see efforts being made to address these social ills as the country is on a mission to create jobs.I have been briefed that there is another exciting project in the pipeline-a pharmaceutical company, and this will also bring employment in the area. I have also been told that water is now available here, something that used to be a major concern in the past and which hindered development in the area. Even though the water is not yet enough to cater for the area’s needs, more efforts will be made in order for the area to industrialise and venture into farming.It is exciting to see such projects, which include a filling station and a shopping complex, which offers many services, including banking services. You no longer have to travel to towns to do your transactions,” he said.
As reported by Government online platforms, the King also encouraged community members who have a vision for development to submit these plans to available structures, including Imiphakatsi, so that they may get support.
