MBABANE:The Eswatini Revenue Service(ERS) has announced the launch of a nationwide, door-to-door client educational drive called "Bafundzise”, a campaign that seeks to educate, enable and empower local businesses on voluntary tax compliance.
In a statement sent to this Swaziland News on Friday afternoon, Ricardo Kruger, the ERS Director of Client Services said, the visits are scheduled to start on March 17, 2025, in the vibrant heart of the Manzini City Centre, primarily targeting micro and small businesses in the country.
“This initiative underscores our unwavering commitment to supporting local businesses by providing them with the knowledge and tools necessary for tax compliance and growth.ERS officers easily identifiable by their branded uniforms and official ID cards, will be visiting businesses to engage in meaningful conversations as well as educate about tax obligations and customs opportunities,” he said.
The ERS Director of Client Services said, the ‘Bafundzise’ campaign embodies the revenue institution’s commitment to standing alongside its clients as partners, not just as a tax collector.
“Through this initiative, we are taking a proactive approach to educating and enabling all businesses, especially small and micro segments to navigate tax compliance with ease. Our consultants will visit businesses across the country to inform business owners on what is required to remain compliant, showcase the various channels and options available to meet their obligations. Additionally, the campaign will highlight how our customs operations may assist towards navigating and expanding
outside of the Eswatini markets,” he said.
ERS encourages Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and micro-business owners to take full advantage of this initiative by asking questions and actively engaging with our teams.
“This campaign provides a unique opportunity for ERS to simplify the tax compliance process, offer meaningful education, and equip businesses with essential knowledge on tax and customs compliance, all within the comfort of their own business premises”, the ERS Director of Client Services said through the statement.
