King Mswati toured the new Magomba Mine on Friday, he holds twenty-five percent(25%) shares in all Mines in the country, with an additional 25% through his Government.
This means the King is a 50% shareholder in all Mines because the Government is his personal property.
But as the country faces a health crisis amid shortage of drugs in public hospitals the question is; who is benefiting from these mineral resources?.
Well, the answer has been articulated above, King Mswati is personally benefiting from the minerals while emaSwati live in squalor and, without access to quality healthcare while basic necessities that include food, water and electricity are fast becoming a luxury in eSwatini.
It should be noted that, minerals were created by God for the benefit of his people, the King does not own any mineral in this country.
As the King tours the Mines, the profits must benefit the people through social services that include access to healthcare, decent elderly grants and of course, free education including the provision of scholarships for deserving University students.

OPINION:State mineral resources must benefit all emaSwati through the supply of drugs in public hospitals and other social services not only the King his royal family(pic:Gov).
