MBABANE:Tanele Magagula, the Hhohho Regional Member of Parliament(MP) allegedly pocked one thousand-five hundred Rands(R1,500.00) from a desperate parent who wanted his child to study at St Marks Primary School around January 2025.
The MP allegedly took one thousand Rands(R1000.00) for herself saying the extra five hundred Rands(R500.00) was for school fees deposit.
But in her last Whatsap message to the victim, she pleaded with the parent not to report her to editor Zweli Martin Dlamini saying, she will pay back the money.
This was after the child spent more days without going to school after the MP disappeared with the money, the parent then threatened to report the matter to the editor and that was when the MP promised to pay back the money as contained in the WhatsApp communication.
The parent subsequently approached the Headteacher only to find that, the MP was never sent to collect money from parents who wanted their children to study at St Marks.
“Ngitokusendela bhuti, you can’t kill me siyadzingana Sutfu”, said the MP in the Whatsap message.
The Hhohho Regional MP declined to comment when reached by this publication on Sunday afternoon.
It is alleged that, the MP took advantage of the parent who was desperate to have his child accepted by St Marks Primary School saying, she will use her political power to assist and influence the Headteacher.
But while this publication was working on the story, the parent called the editor saying; “sewufake R1000.00, sekushoda lo-R500.00”.
The parent said, his child was eventually accepted by the St Marks Primary Headteacher without any demand for a bribe.
