MBABANE:Misiwe Jele-Hlatjwako, the Assistant Immigration Officer found herself behind bars amid a power struggle within the Ministry of Home Affairs and/or scramble for proximity to the King and Indlovukazi Queen Ntombi Tfwala.
An independent investigation conducted by this Swaziland News uncovered that, former Magistrate Mthokozisi Dlamini, the Chief Immigration Officer(CIO) allegedly used his power within the Judiciary, pressured the Anti Corruption Commission(ACC) to intensify the investigation and arrest the Assistant Immigration Officer.
It has been disclosed that, Misiwe-Jele Hlatjwako would sometimes receive a royal command from Queen Ntombi Tfwala to process permits for investors linked to royalty, the documents of those investors now form part of the evidence against the Assistant Immigration Officer who stands accused of breaching internal procedures when processing the permits.
Worth-noting, not all the permits belong to investors with alleged links to royalty or the Queen and this means, the Assistant Immigration Officer might, in other instances acted with an alleged corrupt motive to process permits for foreigners for personal gain, she is facing charges under the Prevention of Corruption Act of 2006.
When this publication contacted the Chief Immigration Officer for a comment, he briefly said;
“I’m in a meeting”.
Misiwe Jele-Hlatjwako has been meeting Indlovukazi and enjoying close proximity with the Queen for sometime now, she is among the Queen’s trusted servants, handling sensitive documents for investors with alleged links to royalty.
“Wena kunguwe bongenta njani ungu Misiwe nayitsi Indlovukazi nawa ema-investor ami LaJele ubongiphatsela kahle. Ingasho kutsi wanike ema-permits itsi nje “ubongiphatsela kahle nakafika kuwe?,” said a source very close to the matter.
On another note, the Assistant Immigration Officer has been handling and facilitating National events that include the King’s Birthday Celebration and, with the Queen and the King above the law, it remains unclear if Misiwe Jele-Hlatjwako will eventually have her day in court as some of the evidence contained in the Anti Corruption Commission(ACC) file, exposes royalty for abusing State power to process permits for foreigners
But a document that was previously published by this Swaziland News exposed how King Mswati issued a similar order, directing the Minister of Home Affairs Princess Lindiwe to process citizenship for his alleged mercenary Arno Pieenar.
King Mswati rules eSwatini as an absolute Monarchy with Executive, Judiciary and Legislative powers, he rules alongside his mother Queen Ntombi Tfwala.
“We have it in command to inform you that His Majesty the King would like the Citizenship Board to issue citizenship to the above named applicant, as per the requirements of the Constitution.Enclosed herewith is the application form, copy of passport and two passport size photos for your attention”, reads the letter in part signed by Chief Mgwagwa Gamedze,the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) in the King’s Office.
But unlike the King who communicated his command through his CEO, Queen Ntombi Tfwala was allegedly using Misiwe Jele-Hlatjwako to assist her investors with permits.
The Assistant Immigration Officer was granted five thousand Rands(R5000.00) bail and facing corruption charges.
