MBABANE:His Excellency Lieutenant General Ian Khama, the former Botswana President says, during his recent meeting with Mozambique main opposition leader, he advised Venâncio Mondlane to consider dialoging with newly inaugurated President Daniel Chapo.
Responding to this Swaziland News on Wednesday morning when asked if he played a role in ensuring that, President Chapo dialogue with the opposition leader, the former Botswana President confirmed advising that a political dialogue must be held.
President Khama applauded Venâncio Mondlane for demonstrating willingness to dialogue in an effort to end the political violence in the south-eastern country.
“Yes and I will continue to do so but he too on his own,was prepared to do so,” said the former Botswana President.
Mozambique President Daniel Chapo met the main opposition leader this week, both political leaders expressed commitment to dialogue and prioritize peace and stability.
