MBABANE:Bishop Mpendulo Nkambule has warned against insulting and attempting to remove King Mswati from the Throne.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Thursday, Nkambule confirmed his social media statement adding that, his advocacy for human rights and the respect for the dignity of emaSwati does not mean he supports the calls seeking to remove the King from Throne.
“I can see people are now distorting my social media statement,I’ve been saying this from the beginning. I am against the violation of human rights but, that does not mean I support the calls seeking to remove the King from the Throne, I want the rights of emaSwati to be respected with the King sitting on the Throne,” he said when speaking to editor Zweli Martin Dlamini.
Bishop Mpendulo Nkambule has been vocal, condemning the violation of human rights in eSwatini, he has “since clarified that, he is not a member of any political party and that, his advocacy for the respect of human rights does not mean,he supports the removal of King Mswati from power”.
The Bishop said, despite his support for King Mswati, he “strongly believes people must be respected and treated with human dignity”.
