MANZINI:Buster Vilakati, the Pigg’s Peak police officer whose voice recording was trending on Swaziland News online platforms after he blasted Police Union Chairperson Isaac Lukhele for disowning Secretary General Sergeant Dumsile Khumalo has been abducted.

Vilakati was abducted by a group of senior police officers and recruits at Caritas-Manzini on Saturday where junior police officers were holding their meeting amid demand for a salary increment.

But the dramatic tension within the Police Service escalated on Saturday after Government defied a Supreme Court order awarding the junior officers their salary increment.

Vilakati who has been vocal in demanding the salary increment, blasted the Police Staff Association Chairperson, accusing him of siding with senior police officers while ‘selling’ the financially struggling junior cops.

Junior police officers have been demanding their salary increment including a back-pay amounting to over one-hundred thousand Rands(R100,000.00) while “those who hold the position of Sergeant, Assistant Inspector and Inspector are now entitled to over three hundred thousand Rands(R300,000.00) in terms of the 2014 Phase two(2) Government Circular”.
