MBABANE:Judge Titus Mlangeni wants lawyer Mangaliso Magagula, the President of the Law Society of Eswatini(LSE) charged with contempt of court, accusing him of using the Galp Eswatini and Ncamase Investments matter to undermine the authority of the court.
Magagula was addressed inside court and informed of his looming charges on Monday and at this juncture, Judge Mlangeni wants the lawyer to show cause why he should not be declared in contempt of court for labeling legitimate court proceedings a “secret hearing”.
The Judge noted that, lawyer Magagula consistently used the reference “secret hearing” even when moving an application before the Supreme Court with an alleged intention to undermine the authority of the court.
“The reference to “secret hearing” is maintained by Magagula in Supreme Court case number 51/24 in which he is moving a Section 148(1) application on behalf of Ncamase, arising the same ex parte application”, said the Judge.
