BIG BEND: Chantel Coster, a Sales Administrator at Ekhaya Properties is selling a church building that was used by the Assemblies of God for E700,000.00, it is situated at Matata, Big Bend.
The sale of the church building comes few days after Acting Prime Minister Senator Themba Masuku who was acting on behalf of King Mswati banned all gathering including churches in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.
When this Swaziland News tried to reach Chantel to ascertain the reasons behind the sale of the building she was reportedly locked in a meeting, but we managed to get hold of another Salesperson who identified himself as Vusumuzi Mdluli .
"That church building belongs to Steffen Holdings who had leased it to the Assemblies of God (AOG) church. The church was using the building for free of charge without paying rent. When our clients ( Steffen Holdings) decided to sell the property , they gave the church first preference. However, they couldn't buy it hence the option to sell their property with us and its going for E700, 000.00", said the Salesperson.
The Assemblies Of God church could not be reached for comments at the time of compiling this report.
