MBABANE:Alpheous Nxumalo, the Government Spokesperson has expressed frustration after the South African Broadcasting Corporation(SABC) Channel Africa radio interviewed Velaphi Mamba, the leader of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO).
The PUDEMO Treasurer General was interviewed on Tuesday morning on eSwatini socio-economic issues and this, did not go down well with the Government Spokesperson.
Eswatini media particularly the State owned radio, is censored and not allowed to interview leaders of PUDEMO, the country’s main liberation movement.
Writing on his online platform on Wednesday, Nxumalo noted that, the SABC Channel Africa radio “gives too much publicity to what he described as regime change terrorists” adding that, he had to always write to them seeking a platform to respond.
“The channel always give too much publicity to regime change terrorist organizations in Eswatini, while Government Spokesperson has to write to them to seek for response on many lies told by these entities about Eswatini”, said the Government Spokesperson.
Velaphi Mamba is a highly regarded eSwatini human rights defender and, a Harvard Scholar, he is currently serving as the Treasurer General of eSwatini’s main and largest political party, PUDEMO.
