MBABANE:Savannah Maziya, the Minister of Information, Communications and Technology(ICT) says the priority should be about empowering the poor and vulnerable.

As reported by Government online platforms, the Minister was speaking on Monday when launching the STEM Future Pioneers Mentorship Programme, themed “Empowering the Next Generation,” a transformative initiative designed to bridge the gender gap in STEM, focusing on the empowerment of young girls.

It has been reported that, the ICT Minister pledged to empower three hundred(300) girls every month through mentorship, the Ministry will select girls from across the country to participate, ensuring inclusivity across rural and urban areas, with a strong focus on equity and opportunity for differently-abled girls and those from underserved communities.

“The most important question we will be judged by is: who did we elevate, even when we had nothing ourselves? Who did we speak well of, who did we support?,” said the Minister.

On another note, the Information Minister encouraged women to lead through solution-driven innovation and advocated for financial literacy as a path to freedom and better choices, promoting a culture of sisterhood and collective leadership.
