MBABANE:Richard Masuku,the Acting Registrar of the University of Eswatini(UNESWA) has ordered protesting students back to class while threatening a temporary shutdown of the institution of higher learning.
In a memo released on Thursday, the Acting Registrar stated that, classes will resume immediately failing which, the institution will be temporarily closed.
“Students should resume classes immediately. In the event students will not have resumed classes by tomorrow morning, the Campuses will be closed and students will be required to have vacated the Campuses by 10.00a.m,” reads the memo in part.
The University students have been protesting this week, calling for the suspension or dismissal of a Lecturer who allegedly verbally assaulted student Farido Singwa, the student subsequently committed suicide.
