Ex-Times boss Paul Loffler pays employees up to R300,000.00 as terminal benefits, workers happy.

MBABANE:Paul Loffler,the former Managing Director of the Times of Eswatini paid his ex-employees up to three hundred thousand Rands(R300,000.00) as terminal benefits.

This was confirmed by an employee who spoke to this Swaziland News, the employee said Loffler left all his former employees happy.

“Some received over R300,000.00 but the money was calculated based on the number or years you worked for the Times. Those who worked over twenty(20) years received that amount so beyehla kancane-kancane nangabe nje usebente ten(10) years or less kanjalo-kanjalo. But all of us were happy to receive our terminal benefits,” said one of the Times journalists when speaking to editor Zweli Martin Dlamini on Monday.

Loffler exclusively revealed to this publication that he was selling the newspaper to anyone who will come with a convincing offer and indeed, he eventually sold the publication to businessman Michello Shakantu of Inyatsi Group.

Reached for comments by this publication, unionist Wander Mkhonza, the Secretary General of the Amalgamated Trade Union of Swaziland(ATUSWA) thanked Loffler for paying the employees their terminal benefits without being forced or taken to court.

“We really appreciate such good news about an employer who paid his employees their terminal benefits and, we encourage others to do the same. When you sell or close a business, leave the employees who have been generating profits for you, happy,” he said.
