MBABANE:Savannah Maziya, the Minister of Information, Communications and Technology(ICT) boycotted the Taiwan funded “Mbabane Smart City” technology project launch amid ongoing fight with Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini.
This Swaziland News reported earlier on Thursday morning that, ICT Minister Savannah Maziya might not attend the launch of the multimillion project that came into being as a result of her creative ideas, she had to be negotiated to participate but seemingly, the efforts were unsuccessful as she did not attend.
The project “seeks to ensure that, Mbabane capital city has a free WiFi to enhance free communication among emaSwati.
Acting Government Spokesperson Thabile Mdluli declined to comment about the matter.
The project was launched in Mbabane on Thursday morning and visiting Taiwan Foreign Minister Lin Chia-Lung was the Guest Speaker, Minister Savannah Maziya allegedly sent Principal Secretary(PS) Phesheya Dube to represent her.
