Army Commander Mashikilisane Fakudze allegedly steals about R1million from soldiers’ Hlalawati Savings Fund, gets R5,000.00 per-week as “litiya la-Commander”.

NOKWANE:Army Commander Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze has allegedly stolen about R1million from the soldiers Hlalawati Savings Fund, he is paid five thousand Rands(R5,000.00) per-week as “litiya la-Commander”.

An independent investigation conducted by this Swaziland News uncovered that, Fakudze has been receiving the money since 2021 when he took over as the Army Commander and “the money that has accumulated to about R1million, is handed over to him by the Head of the Savings Fund as per his directive or order”.

A questionnaire was sent to the Army Commander, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

Army Spokesperson Lieutenant Tengetile Khumalo declined to comment saying her “Office is not the rightful Department to respond to such questions involving Hlalawati Savings and Cooperative”.

On another note, Army Commander Mashikilisane Fakudze has been involved in a series of corruption scandals.

But the tension within the Army Commander escalated after this investigative journalist exposed Commander Mashikilisane Fakudze for allegedly owning over two hundred(200) cattle worth R3million and, being proceeds of bribes from members of the public seeking jobs in the army and officers who were made to pay for promotions.

The Army Commander is also accused of stealing over R20million and subsequently closed the Burial Fund that was assisting soldiers to contribute twelve thousand Rands(R12,000.00) as “imali yekulila” when visiting families to mourn the death of a soldier.
