Eswatini ex-miners or their relatives urged to register, over R100million TB and silicosis compensation already paid.

MBABANE:Ex-eSwatini miners who were working in South Africa are urged to register and claim compensation for lung damage, the Tshiamiso Trust have already paid out nearly R100million to eligible claimants. 

But the Trust is actively seeking more beneficiaries who may be entitled to significant financial relief and this is open to individuals or their families.

Those who are eligible can file a claim and undergo a Benefit Medical Examination(BME) through the Trust, ex-miners in the Hhohho region are advised to register on Friday, June 13, at Pigg’s Peak Government Hospital. 

But residents of the Lubombo region can access assistance with new claims and medical examinations at the Good Shepherd Hospital in Siteki on Monday, June 16, and Tuesday, June 17 and The Employment Bearer for Africa(TEBA) offices in Mbabane and Nhlangano remain open daily to assist with enquiries and processes.
