MBABANE:The Executive Committee of the Royal Eswatini Police Staff Association(REPOSA) has warned National Commissioner of Police Vusi Manoma Masango against interfering with the ongoing salary negotiations with the Ministry of Public Service.
Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson declined to comment.
But in a statement sent to this Swaziland News, the Police Union condemned the National Commissioner for attempting to sideline their Secretary General Sergeant Dumsile Khumalo.
“The Secretariate of the Royal Eswatini Police Staff Association (REPOSA) has noted with dismay the reaction and actions of the National Commissioner, (NATCOM), and his Executive of sidelining the Secretary General of the Association in matters and business of the Association. We wish to remind our members that the National Commissioner is not a member of the association therefore he must/shall desist from the business of the Association. Secretary General is still a member of the Police Association and very fit to perform duties of the association. We as REPOSA strongly condemn the barbaric act of kidnapping the Secretary General when she is performing duties of the association.We wish to further inform our membership that the Secretary General will form part of the contingent to meet Public Service in the on-going Phase Two negotiations and any decision made in her absence does not bind REPOSA.We call our members to remain calm as a contingent of members will escort her to make sure her safety is guaranteed. General membership should await feedback from the Association Executive”, reads the statement in part.
