MBABANE:Vusi Manoma Masango, the National Commissioner of Police has allegedly ordered the staging of roadblocks across the country in an effort to stop Secretary General of the Royal Eswatini Police Staff Association(REPOSA) Dumsile Khumalo, from participating in the salary increment negotiations meeting with the Ministry of Public Service.
This comes after the Police Union released a statement on Sunday evening confirming that, the Secretary General will be part of the meeting, highly expected to take place on Monday and might continue until Tuesday.
But an urgent announcement was circulated on Monday morning through the junior police officers WhatsApp group where some officers were warning other cops about the roadblocks ahead of the salary increment negotiations.
Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the eSwatini Police Spokesperson declined to comment about the matter.
On another note, this Swaziland News previously reported that, the National Commissioner was plotting to sideline the junior officers again and award a salary increment from Inspector and other senior police officers.
This comes after Masango stopped a meeting last week at Hilton Hotel-Mbabane after learning that, Sergeant Khumalo will participate as the representative of the junior cops, the meeting was subsequently postponed to this week.
The National Commissioner is alleged to be preparing to introduce his own ‘puppet’ officers to represent the junior cops and sign an agreement with Government, junior police officers are vigorously opposing that.
