MBABANE:Sifiso ‘Smallz’ Mahlangu, the attempted murder suspect who confessed poisoning the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) Mlungisi Makhanya allegedly contacted the Offices of the Swaziland MultiStakeholder Forum(MSF) based in Johannesburg, asking for money and food.

Mahlangu is wanted by the police for attempted murder, he allegedly attempted to kill the PUDEMO President.

It is alleged that, he was working with eSwatini State agents and other political leaders who hosted him on social media where he confessed poisoning the PUDEMO President who accommodated him in his own house in Pretoria.

As a result, Mahlangu appeared inside of what looked like a Guest House when confessing on social media that, he was the one who poisoned the PUDEMO leader.

Efforts to see a comment from Mahlangu proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.

Various political parties in South Africa urged the police to apprehend the suspect as a matter of urgency, while condemning the abduction and killing of eSwatini political activists hiding in South Africa.

But Mahlangu is alleged to have contacted MSF Offices, he subsequently disappeared again amid fears that, he might be arrested when physically visiting the Offices.

It has been disclosed that, Mahlangu was receiving an allowance or financial assistance from the MSF and/or the Lawyers for Democratic Swaziland(LAW-DERSWA), through an over five hundred thousand Rands(R500,000.00) Fund  established by businessman and lawyer Sicelo Mngometulu, the money came from the Mngomezulu family to assist those in exile and their children with school fees.

But despite receiving the financial assistance, Mahlangu later joined a team of individuals who were insulting pro-democracy leaders through live videos on social media, he is reportedly struggling with food and shelter in South Africa.

Reached for comments by this Swaziland News, Philile Khumalo, the Secretary General of the MultiStakeholder Forum confirmed that, Mahlangu was benefiting from the Fund established by Mngomezulu, however, he was later removed after attempting to kill the PUDEMO President and spreading false information suggesting that, he wasn’t receiving any assistance.

Mahlangu’s child was also receiving money to pay school fees and this assistance was also directed to other vulnerable emaSwati in exile.

“LAW-DERSWA who is administering the Mngomezulu Eswatini Bursary Scheme confirms that a dependent/s of Smally Mahlangu was a recipient of the Scheme for the academic year 2024,”said the MSF Secretary General.
