Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini meets United States officials at US-Africa Business Summit, strengthening of economic diplomacy and partnership discussed.

MBABANE:Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini held bilateral meetings with Senior United States(US) officials, where issues of mutual interest, including strengthening economic diplomacy and partnership were discussed, Government online platforms reported.

It has been reported that, these meetings were held on the sidelines of the US-Africa Business Summit in Luanda, Angola. 

“In the first meeting, the PM met with Ambassador Troy Fitrell, Senior Bureau Official at the Bureau of African Affairs, US Department of State, who was in the company of Mr. Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to President Donald Trump. The PM then met with Ms Constance Hamilton, Assistant US Trade Representative for Africa.In both meetings, areas of mutual cooperation and potential investment were identified, including energy security, Agriculture, ICT and mining, largely drawn from the Government’s Programme of Action.The Prime Minister appreciated the USA for health care support provided through PEPFAR, mentioning that while good progress has been made, more work is yet to be done to eliminate new infections amongst the youth, which is still very high”, reads a Government online report.

On amother note, the US officials reaffirmed their Government’s steadfast commitment to supporting eSwatini’s health sector, underscoring the deepening ties between the two Nations. 

“Both countries share a mutual respect for their diplomatic relations with the Republic of China, Taiwan, which further strengthens their bilateral partnership,” the report states.
