MBABANE:Thulisile Dladla,the Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) has officially opened rehabilitated classrooms at at Mampempeni Primary School(Gilgal Inkhundla) and Ekuphumuleni High School (Khuphuka Inkhundla), Government online platforms reported on Thursday.
It has been reported that, the project was financially supported by the African Union Commission through its Humanitarian Affairs Division in collaboration with Bureau of the Permanent Representative Council Sub-Committee of Refugees and Internally Displaced persons.
“In her remarks, the DPM thanked His Majesty King Mswati III for fostering international partnerships that bring timely support to Emaswati. She encouraged school communities to preserve the upgraded facilities for future generations. At Mampempeni, she called for the rehabilitation of the school’s borehole to restore running water by the Regional Development Fund, while NDMA continues to refill tanks.The school also received four new teachers’ houses and upgraded toilets.At Ekuphumuleni,the DPM pledged government support to establish a consumer science classroom, empowering learners with practical skills.She also donated food parcels-maize, dried fruits, and noodles-to all four schools and encouraged them to expand their gardens with crops like peanuts and beans to improve student nutrition,” reads the online report.
