MBABANE:Mfankhona Nkambule, the Times Sunday journalist is allegedly eyeing the position of Managing editor in a ‘reshuffle’ that might take place next week after the Inyatsi Group of Companies took over the giant newspaper.
Nkambule who is fast approaching the retirement age in the next four(4) years having joined the Times in 1995, shared his desire to become the Managing editor to a leader of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) who was sharing a light moment with him on information suggesting that, he wanted to become the next Government Spokesperson.
“Awusangifiseli nekutsi ngibe ngu-Managing editor, ngifuna lesikhundla leso mine”, said the Times Sunday journalist.
It has been disclosed that, some journalists from the Financial Times might move to the Times to take over influential positions, this include former Sports editor Lwazi Dlamini, the current President of the Eswatini National Association of Journalists(ENAJ).
The workers who were previously working under the Paul Loffler administration were on a three(3) months probation that will end on Tuesday.
Responding to this Swaziland News earlier, Martin Dlamini, the current Times Managing editor denied that, together with other workers, he was under probation.
But sources within the top Management told this publication that, next week a meeting will be held to assess the performance of all the workers.
“This is meant to ascertain if the workers are adapting to the editorial policies of the new Management and the technological innovations that will take place,” said the source.
