MBABANE:Swazi Observer(Pty) Ltd , a State controlled media is now financially struggling to remit Medical Aid contributions and as a result, Eswatini Med has blocked the benefits for the company’s workers.

It has been reported that, the media company is owing Eswatini Med R1.9million and this comes amid rampant looting involving Managing editor Mbongeni Mbingo and Accountant Tengetile Mkhize.

A questionnaire was sent to the Swazi Observer Managing editor, however, he declined to comment.

But an employee of the Swazi Observer sent some documents to this independent online publication confirming that, he was struggling to access his Medical Aid benefits after the company deducted their monies without remitting to Eswatini Med.

“We are all struggling to access Medical Aid kodvwa imali yetfu solo iyatsatfwa”, said the employee.

Swazi Observer Managing editor Mbongeni Mbingo was recently exposed by this Swaziland News for allegedly colluding with Accountant Tengetile Mkhize to steal over R1million company funds.

It is alleged that, some companies advertise with the Swazi Observer but pay Mbingo on the sidelines and the monies are reflecting in his personal bank account.

Allen Mkhonta, the Managing Director of the State controlled newspaper confirmed to this Swaziland News that, he tried to discipline one of the employees but in the process, he was subsequently forced to go on leave.

Mbingo is allegedly abusing his proximity with King Mswati’s wife Inkhosikati Sibonelo Mngometulu known as LaMbikiza to engage in corruption with impunity.
