The insider told this publication that, the recruitment was supposed to commence in September 2025 but, the situation within the Executive Command of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defense Force(UEDF) suggests that, stability and unity within the Army must be restored first before any recruitment.
It is alleged that, Fakudze had divided the Army such that, during meeting he would question other senior Commanders saying “wena ungakuphi, ngeke nje bese uyangitsengisa ngibone loku lebesikukhuluma sekusemaphepheni?”.
The Army Commander is also alleged to have defied a royal order directing him to resign, he stands accused of corruption and dividing the army thus thretening State security.
On another note, police “are reportedly concluding the criminal case” against the Army Commander, he allegedly unleashed soldiers to attack Brigadier General Zenzele ‘Ace’ Dlamini with weapons of war accusing him of communicating with this investigative journalist.
Police Spokesperson Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Reached for comments by this Swaziland News on Thursday, Army Spokesperson Lieutenant Tengetile Khumalo said, “she can’t comment on a matter that is being investigated” by the police.
“Kindly touch base with the compatible law enforcement agency in this regard,” said the Army Spokesperson.
The Army Commander who is now a subject of a royal investigation allegedly looted about R20million monies belonging to soldiers and subsequently closed the Burial Fund that was assisting soldiers with “imali yekulila” amounting to twelve thousand Rands(R12,000.00) when visiting families to mourn the death of another soldier.
But apart from that, the Commander Fakudze has been receiving five thousand Rands(R5,000.00) per-week as “litiya la-Commander” from Hlalawati, a Saving and Cooperative Fund belonging to soldiers, the looted monies since Fakudze took over as the Army Commander, amount to about R1million.
A few days ago, this publication reported that, the Army Commander informed Commanding Officers(COs) during a meeting held at Nokwane Headquarters that, King Mswati “has commissioned an investigation to investigate the allegations published by the Swaziland News against him”.
The Army Commander is also facing arrest after allegedly unleashing soldiers to attack Brigadier General Zenzele ‘Ace’ Dlamini with weapons of war, Brigadier Dlamini subsequently opened a criminal case at Mafutseni Police Station and has been making a follow-up with the police insisting that, he wants nothing but, to see a suspect(siboshwa) behind bars.
