MP Buthelezi: Swazis to determine their political future not EFF.

Thursday, 19th December, 2019

MBABANE: Powerful Member of Parliament and Deputy Speaker in the House of Assembly Phila Buthelezi said only Swazis will determine their political future not Julius Malema and his Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF).

Speaking to this Swaziland News, the MP said there was no perfect political system in the world hence no one should ever dream of removing the Tinkhundla system of governance if eMaswati(Swazis) were still happy with it. The powerful MP was responding to sentiments made by former President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) Mario Masuku at the EFF elective conference in South Africa where he called upon MPs of the Pan African Parliament(PAP) to isolate eSwatini legislators.

“There is no perfect democracy, as Swazis we have the power to determine our destiny. We don’t mind what outside people are saying. If the Swazis are comfortable with the Tinkhundla political system, then we have no problem at all,” said the MP.

Ex-PUDEMO President Mario Masuku, when addressing the elective conference wondered why members of the EFF seat in the African Parliament with Swazi MPs saying they were not representing the people Swaziland.

“Comrades I know that some of you are members of the Pan African Parliament and I wonder how members of the EFF seat down with Swazi MPs at the African Parliament as these MPs do not represent the people of Swaziland.  Never associate yourselves with people who do not represent our people in Parliament. We call on our external friends to help fight this absolute Monarchy and help the people of Swaziland to govern themselves,” he said
