EZULWINI:King Mswati has called for the strengthening of cooperation between the Kingdom of eSwatini and the United States including the sustainability of US funded projects in the country.
The King was speaking in Ezulwini on Thursday during the commemoration of the 249th United States Independence Day, he was represented by his Advisor Prince David and the event was attended by members of the royal family,Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini, Cabinet Ministers, diplomats and Members of Parliament amongst others.
“We are optimistic that despite the global foreign policy changes and impact, we shall objectively and positively engage with each other to ensure that the programs in Eswatini continue to be sustained. This will be in the best interests of our people and Governments as we wish for them to continously benefit greatly from our cordial relationship. As we celebrate this day with you, we are reminded of the importance of unity, resilience, and the shared aspiration for a better future. This is what Independence is all about-ensuring that every citizen enjoys the benefit of what the heroes have fought for,” he said.
The King said, the “Kingdom of Eswatini is proud to enjoy a longstanding and fruitful relationship with the United States of America” adding that, over the years, the bilateral relations have been built on respect, shared values, and a common vision for peace, development, and prosperity.
“The United States has been a steadfast partner in supporting Eswatini’s development goals, particularly in the areas of health, education and economic empowerment, to mention but a few. We remain deeply grateful for the significant support and contributions made by the United States Government, its agencies and the American people in Eswatini,” said the King.
Prince David was representing King Mswati during the 249th United States Independence Day.
