MBABANE:The International Commission of Jurists(ICJ) cited articles published by this Swaziland News and other stories written by editor Zweli Martin Dlamini for the Mail & Guardian when compiling a report, highlighting the harassment of lawyers and human rights violations in eSwatini.
The report titled “No Situation is Permanent, Repression, Intimidation, harassment and killing of lawyers in Eswatini” comes amid intimidation and killing of lawyers in the tiny Kingdom and recently, Judge Titus Mlangeni jailed President of the Law Society Mangaliso Magagula on questionable contempt of court charges.
Human rights lawyer Thulani Maseko was killed during the political unrest while previous investigative articles about the death of University law student Thabani Nkomonye were also cited in the ICJ report.
Other reputable institutions that cite Swaziland News articles when compiling reports about eSwatini include the United Nations(UN) based in New York Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and various world financial institutions.
Editor Zweli Martin Dlamini recently received an invitation to tour one of the world’s financial institutions for possible collaboration on media projects.
Dlamini is highly expected to take a flight very soon for the trip, he also a part-time writer for the Mail& Guardian, IOL News and other international media publications.
