Swaziland News editor Zweli Martin Dlamini in Botswana for World Bank Gender Equality report presentation, meets Regional Director Anna Wellenstein and Youth Affairs Minister.

GABORONE:Zweli Martin Dlamini, the Managing editor of this Swaziland News is in Botswana, attending the Gender Equality report presentation, he was invited by the World Bank to attend the event as a Guest.

Lesego Chombo, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Gender Equality addressed the event on Tuesday morning highlighting the significance of empowering women and children.

But the Minister noted that young boys in Botswana face more abuse than girls at a young age and, those boys subsequently abuse their partners once they grew-up. 

As a result, the Minister said, boys should not be left out on issues of gender equality and empowerment.

World Bank Regional Practice Director for Planet in Eastern and Southern Africa Anna Wellenstein also addressed the event that was attended by high profile people within the Botswana Government.

The report was officially delivered by World Bank Senior Social Development Specialist Samaneh Hermat.
