MBABANE:Inyatsi Construction(Pty) Ltd has been recognized by the Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) as the leading tax compliant and contributor within the entire construction industry.
The giant construction company was awarded by Finance Minister Neal Rijikernberg and Commissioner General of the Eswatini Revenue Service(ERS) Brightwell Nkambule during the Client Appreciation Day, held at the Happy Valley Hotel-Ezulwini on Friday evening.
Inyatsi was awarded alongside other notable companies including Mormond Electrical Contractors Limited, Toepfer & Sons Construction (Pty) Ltd, and Mgcabho Construction(Pty) Ltd.
The award underscores Inyatsi Construction’s strong commitment to compliance, corporate governance, and national development, the construction company, through its parent company-Inyatsi Group Holdings, is currently executing projects across six(6) countries with a combined value exceeding R4billion.
Speaking recently during the Inyatsi Group Leadership Summit, Executive Committee Member Dr Thokozani Nkambule detailed the group’s regional footprint and economic impact in Eswatini.
“Inyatsi Group Holdings stands as a lucrative enterprise, built on diversification, resilience and long-term thinking.We are active in six countries, with projects currently valued at over E4billion,” he said.
Inyatsi Group currently employs over six thousands(6000) emaSwati sustaining thousands of households and communities.
But Dr Nkambule said, the company’s annual bill amounts to E700 million, supporting families, enabling education and enhancing th equality of life in the country.
“Here at home, we employ over 6000 people, with an annual wage bill of E700 million. That’s thousands of families fed, children educated, and futures secured,” he said.
Dr Nkambule said, in addition to job creation, Inyatsi Group contributes R1.1billion annually to the national fiscus in the form of taxes and dividends.
“We work with more than 2200 subcontractors and suppliers, fuelling entrepreneurship, strengthening SMEs, and spreading opportunity far beyond our own payroll,” he added.
Inyatsir Construction’s recognition as a top tax contributor in the construction sector reflects the ERS’s broader mission to promote voluntary compliance and reward businesses that go above and beyond in meeting their tax obligations.
According to the ERS, responsible taxpayers are the bedrock of national development, enabling the government to deliver public services, infrastructure, and economic opportunities.
The ERS has consistently emphasised that tax revenue is essential to achieving the country’s development goals and improving the lives of citizens.
Through initiatives like the Client Appreciation Day, the authority hopes to inspire a culture of compliance and integrity across sectors, the construction industry continues to play a pivotal role in Eswatini’s economic development.
The sector also holds strong potential for job creation, youth skills development and SME participation through subcontracting and supply chains-areas where Inyatsi has already made notable strides.
Commerce, Industry and Trade Minister Manqoba Khumalo said, the business community in Eswatini has a role to play to ensure that His Majesty’s vision for a developed eSwatini is realised, the Commerce Minister was addressing the Inyatsi Group Leadership Summit
“His Majesty’s vision for the country is a very lofty goal. When you listen to him speak about what he sees for Eswatini, you are left inspired as an individual and hopefully as an organisation, you are equally inspired by the fact that His Majesty has a vision that Eswatini will, by hook or crook, become a first world country,” said the Commerce Minister.
