HLANE:Clifford Mamba, the former Principal Secretary(PS) in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has been accused of invading Hlane with an alleged intention to grab land from poor residents.
It is alleged that, Mamba was facilitating the conversion of Hlane from being a Swazi Nation Land(SNL) to a town and in the process, he strategically identified fields belonging to residents to be grabbed and allocated to the rich and powerful.
The former PS when grabbing the land a few weeks ago, is alleged to have told the residents that he was empowered by the fact that, the land belonged to King Mswati
“It seems he is now working as a Consultant for a certain businessman who wants land in Hlane as the area has been declared a town.He came here wafaka tikhokhwane emasimini wasitjela kutsi he is running a company lengu-Black Cat. Wehlisa emapoli wawabeka watsi he will fence the area”, said a resident of the area.
A questionnaire was sent to the former PS, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Hlane residents are currently living in a state of uncertainty after the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development declared the area a town.
