MBABANE:Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has been appointed the President of the Global Council on Political Renewal(GCPR) for the period 2025-2028, Government online platforms reported on Monday.
It has been reported that, the Prime Minister takes over from South African Member of Parliament Bridget Masango and, the appointment comes after a successful presentation on the Tinkhundla system of Governance during the 3rd Annual Meeting of the GCPR in Brussels-Belgium, held in February this year.
“Whilst in Brussels, the Prime Minister also met with Members of the EU Parliament and executives of the EU Council.The GCPR is a global body promoting the cooperation of politicians at all levels across the world and striving for global peace and justice. The activities of the GCPR are focused on promoting ethics in politics, protecting human rights, striving for social, environmental and economic justice and global peace, and advancing human development through research, education, and training. The Prime Minister is serving alongside former Prime Minister of Jordan, also former Senator, H. E. Faisal Al-Fayez, who serves as the Chairperson of the GCPR Executive Council. Also in the executive of the GCPR is former Mayor of Udine, Italy, Prof. Dr. Furio Honsell, who serves as Secretary-General. Prof. Honsell is also a former member of the Italy Regional Parliament and former rector of the University of Udine”, reads the online report.
